Bovine Congestive Heart Failure (BCHF) Plus Jumonji Testing
This fast and accurate testing service for prediction of BCHF risk allows producers to make informed decisions for breeding and growth management. Selection for the protective JMJD1C allele may be useful in reducing bovine congestive heart failure in affected herds. A single copy of the minor allele can provide protection from BCHF. Testing can be performed from blood, semen, or tissue (ear notch) samples.
Horned/Polled (Celtic)
Polled livestock are without horns through selective breeding in species that are typically horned. This benefits animals that are maintained in locations like barns and small fenced in areas. This phenotype is often desirable for beef and dairy breeds. Testing can be performed from blood, semen, or tissue (ear notch) samples. Primarily for Angus, Charolais, and Hereford.
